Bernie Dignam completed a degree at the College of Marketing and Design, D.I.T in 1988 and then a further year of study Limerick School of Art & Design in 1995 along with post grad courses in Education in NUI Galway and Maynooth. Originally from Finglas, Dublin, in 1997 she moved to Connemara. Her work spans textiles through fine art printmaking and ceramics. Her work is inspired by a range of subjects including the Connemara sea and bogscapes, land boundaries, Hubble telescope images. She completed a body of work based on the theme of ‘Icarus’ for Clifden Arts Week September 2014. Below are some images of the artists work which is for sale.
She has exhibited in Dublin, Belfast, Limerick City Gallery, Galway Arts Centre, Oldcastle, Co. Meath and Connemara in various solo, selected and group exhibitions. She has also exhibited in Maine in the United States and, in 2006, had a solo show in The Grand Opera House, Wilmington, Delaware, U.S.A.
Bernie has 20 years’ experience in teaching Art & Design. She has delivered a diverse range of workshops to all ages and abilities. From the delivery of a series of workshops for the Leitrim County Enterprise Board in Product Development and Design, UL, to children’s arts & crafts programmes in USA and Ireland.
